Golden Chanterelles at my Forest Hut

"There I was on a July morning looking for love. With the strength of a new day dawning and the beautiful sun. At the sound of the first bird singing I was leaving for home. /.../ There wasn't a stone I left unturned"
;-)

There are much-room in the forest this days ;-) I luv golden chanterelles, do You have them around where You live? I sit here outside my forest hut, in the hot sun, preparing some chanterelles for later on :-p
Sending my thoughts to You all!

Love,

Anna-Lys

it's very possible that they grow where i live.
i'm not very confident when it comes to picking wild mushrooms though. i usually purchase them commercially.

your chanterelles look great though. i truly hope you enjoyed them .. :)
hope you have a wonderful rest of the summer in your forest hut, anna-lys. you know it's always good to find you online.

Thanks, this has been an unusually hot summer for being in Sweden, but still we got chantarelles down in the walley (I live high up on a mountain, in the forest).

Thanks sweetie,
When You come to visit Sweden in July - I will bring You on a wild forest lesson :-D
Then we make Odin wine of bilberries, p
cake on blueberries, ice-cream on forest raspberries, omelette on mushroom etcetera ;-)

Jon
Thanks I like using old stuff in new ways, instead of throwing it away.

tack detsamma, fast jag är inte något bra på att plåta, bara påta i jorden och tänka med orden :-)

Pete
You know Your Uriah Heep! :-D
That song "July Morning" is a beauty, I think.

What a coincidence! I recently saw a wagon with a coffee table for a wheel!

Lovely poetic sentiment dear Anna-Lys for a warm summer's morning,I could almost hear that bird singing, lovely imagery.
I have not seen any chanterelles growing around here but some wild mushrooms and some other colourful red fungi, but I would be hesitant to eat either as they could be poisonous ... I shall stick with those that I purchase from the fruit shop.
Hope you are enjoying your summer.

Love the photo and the 'much-room' pun. We have many sorts of edible mushrooms here in the Kootenay region of British Columbia.

There is a restaurant with wild mushrooms in every dish.

Interesting blog! I'll come more often.

No, I haven't.

So we are not so alienated as we thought
even if You are South and I North

I don't have a wagon, yet.
But, I am looking around for a horse.
That's a plan! ;-)

Unfortunately, the poem is not mine,
It is lyrics from Uriah Heep's "July Morning".
But, that was the tune I heard inside!

I would never buy fruits, berries, vegetables or mushrooms when they are growing just outside the door. But, if You live an urbanized life, I guess that is the way You get along with food.

But, please be aware of that they put in more poisons in the food You buy, to make it look fresher and newly picked.

Hi Dick,
I guess there are not that many great forests in The Netherlands. Glad You liked my table!
Enjoy Your summer, my friend.

Marianne
Nä, man ska undvika att kombinera svamp och danskevann ;-) Saknar turandet över sundet :-/

Thank You, You are always welcome! ;-)
I guess we have pretty much the same kind of nature (and humour) in BC and Sweden.

Why not?

love chanterelles, used to pick them with mom and dad when we were still in sweden... mother was a super cook

great stone and glasswork at your hut... too soon it'll be winter, since it's nearly the end of july already, and you'll be back in the city...

Cynthia
Thank You, I am starting to like it myself, it was just a pic in the moment of doing something.

Laughingwolf
This is not a pic from the cave on the island. This is from the estate I bought 20 minutes from Gothenburg on the mainland. Close to work, but still in the wilderness :-)

I don't believe we have those around here, but we do some some similar flowers.

Maybe my poor vision. When I was young, those golden chanterelles were easy to find. Nowadays I see none.
